BITS

BITS was a personal musical project from 2021.

Over 3 months I produced a track each day using an old Bit 99 synthesiser - 99 in total. I then mixed selected tracks down into 3, hour long continuous mix albums.

The 3 albums are available on Spotify, Bandcamp and YouTube, and you'll find all 99 tracks on YouTube as well.

The results are very lo-fi, and mostly in a dark ambient style. Personal favourites include BITS 38, 42 and 84.

For me the project was an attempt to kick-start musical creativity through strict constraints and regular practice.

It also gave me an excuse to take lots of photos of this beautiful, glitchy old vintage keyboard.
